Tipping rules - from an Iowa bridal hairstylist

Do You Have to Tip Your Wedding Hair & Makeup Team?

Short answer?
Nope. 🤍 at least not Bespoke Beauty. I cant speak for others but i NEVER ask for or require a tip on your wedding services.

I do not believe that tipping your wedding hair & makeup team is never required. Ever.

Is it appreciated? Absolutely.
Is it expected? No. At least, it shouldn’t be.

Your wedding morning should feel calm and exciting — not like you’re stressing over envelopes and math, and payments.

So let’s talk about meaningful ways to show your beauty team love (that don’t involve cash).

1. Leave. A. Review.

This one? Elite.

Google is the most commonly requested review platform, but it’s also amazing to leave a review wherever you originally booked us.

Reviews are how small businesses stay booked and busy. When you write about:

  • How your hair lasted all night

  • How calm the morning felt

  • How you felt like yourself, just elevated

  • Whether we executed the style you wanted

  • How communicative we were leading up to the wedding

  • Anything we did that stood out or felt special

You’re helping future brides feel safe booking us.

And honestly? A thoughtful review means more long-term than a cash tip. It keeps our business growing. It keeps our calendars full. It allows us to keep doing what we love.

That’s powerful.

2. Send Us Your Wedding Photos

We LIVE for the professional shots featuring your hair (and makeup for the MUAs 🤍).

When you share your gallery with us, you’re:

  • Helping us show real wedding results

  • Letting other brides see what’s possible

  • Supporting our portfolio growth

Pinterest is cute. Real brides are everything.

Plus… we’re genuinely obsessed with seeing you glowing and married. I can honestly say I remember brides from the very beginning of my career, and I still recognize them if I run into them. You aren’t just another person in my chair. You’re my entire weekend. I truly enjoy sharing your photos and reminiscing every time I see them.

And, I love featuring my brides & supporting their photographers on my look book page!

3. Refer Your Friends

If your cousin gets engaged next year…
If your coworker starts venue shopping…
If someone asks for vendor recommendations in a bridal group…

Drop our name.

Word-of-mouth referrals are gold in the wedding world. That kind of support means you trusted us enough to recommend us — and that’s huge.

And if you are in the wedding party and you refer the bride? Your style is on me. 🤍 Just a little thank-you for sharing me with the people you love.

If You Do Still Want to Tip?

We will never say no to gratitude in any form. 🤍

But it is never required.

Your contract already covers our time, experience, products, travel, and expertise. Gratuity is simply a bonus — not an expectation.

The real win for us?

You feeling confident.

You feeling calm.

You looking in the mirror speechless when the look you’ve been planning for months finally comes together perfectly.

You loving your photos years from now.

That’s my goal. Always.

If you ever have etiquette questions (because wedding culture can feel confusing & overwhelming), just ask. I’m here for that.

Your job is to be the bride.
I’ve got the rest.

xoxo,
Stacia
